“the PROPS” Awards lunch took place at the London Hilton Park Lane and was staged by our client, Variety, the Children’s Charity who used the event to raise vital funds to purchase electric wheelchairs for disabled and disadvantaged children and young people throughout the UK.

Variety’s 27th Annual “the PROPS” lunch is real estate’s premier fundraising event. Since its inception in 1992, “the PROPS”, dedicated to the UK’s property industry, raising nearly £10 million and funded more than 2,000 custom-made electric wheelchairs. This year’s awards was hosted again by England and the British & Irish Lions Rugby Legend Martin Bayfield.

Martin Bayfield hosted the event

“the PROPS” Awards spans a wide range of categories, from Deal of the Year, to Property Lender and Development of the Year. The list of recipients of PROPS awards over the years reads like an industry ‘who’s who’ including Trevor Hemmings, Gerald Ronson CBE, Tony Pidgley CBE, Sir John Beckwith CBE, Sir John Ritblat, Sir William McAlpine, Richard Caring, Irvine Sellar,  Michael Slade, Sir Stuart Lipton and Irvine Sellar.

For the past 27 years, “the PROPS” Awards has recognised individuals and companies in the property industry who have excelled.

Paul White joined Frogmore in 1995 as Managing Director.  He set the Company’s vision and delivered its sustained performance over the past 21 years.  Under his leadership in changing market conditions, the listed company’s profit before taxation more than tripled from approximately £15 million to £55 million (1996 – 2000).  He then led the privatisation of Frogmore Estates plc in January 2001.

Since 2006, Frogmore has evolved into an established real estate investment manager.  Paul spearheaded the raise of close to £1bn in equity capital globally across three closed-end funds.  He has been involved in the origination, underwriting and financing of over £7bn transactions at Frogmore. Paul moved from being Chief Executive at Frogmore to his current role as Chairman in April 2016.

Paul is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a member of the Investment Property Forum.  He is a strong supporter of the Willow Foundation, a charity for seriously ill young adults. In 2016, Paul was awarded the MBE for his services to charity.

Made in the Midlands a “Wow” event

The 2018 Made in the Midlands Awards were a big “wow” according to those that wrote to Good Call Media following the event.

We crafted the kick off video for the glittering evening held at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel in the centre of Birmingham featuring winners from last year and the main sponsors of the 2018 event. We work with Insider to identify the potential interviewees and then pick up the organisation schedule on their behalf. We then arrange to visit the various  sponsors and winners to highlight the main aspects of the awards.

Our background in journalism with the BBC business unit, working for programmes such as ‘World Business Report’, ‘Working Lunch’ on BBC 2 and the former BBC business flagship programme ‘Business Breakfast’ as well as the “Today” programme and “Wake Up To Money” on Radio Five Live, were key when we were appointed by Insider Media Group, the organisers of the Awards.

Filming On Prince Edward Island

The wild beauty of Prince Edward Island on Canada’s East Coast has been the backdrop for our latest international filming assignment.

This was the first stop in a contract that covers five different continents as we travel the world to meet the winners of the 2018 World Veterinary Association Animal Welfare Awards.

Prince Edward Island

The island is home to a highly respected vet school and, although we can’t reveal the North American winner until after the Awards ceremony on May 4, it’s safe to say that this person has gone above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to building the profile of animal welfare.

Following the successful WVA Animal Welfare Award 2017, the World Veterinary Association and Ceva Sante Animale decided to launch the 2nd WVA Animal Welfare Award.

The aim of the WVA Animal Welfare Awards is to recognize and reward veterinarians who contribute to the protection and welfare of animals in their daily lives and provide outstanding and exemplary welfare-related services to animals, animal owners, fellow veterinarians, and the public.

The Global Animal Welfare Awards 2018 will be presented to one selected veterinarian from each of the six WVA regions (North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, North Africa/Middle East, and Asia/Oceania).

The WVA Animal Welfare Awards Ceremony will take place in Barcelona, Spain from May 5 to 8, 2018 during the 34th World Veterinary Congress, where the winners will be invited to receive a monetary prize of 5.000 Euros

Rapid Reaction Impresses Award Winners And Sponsors

Reaction has continued to flood in from our rapid turnaround of interviews recorded imediately after the ceremony for the 2018 Ceva UK Animal Welfare Awards.

The number of hits on social media was dramatically increased by our swift response with many winners and sponsors very keen to share their success in the aftermath of receiving their award.

Good Call Media Co-owner, Nik Wood, who coordinated the interviews and editing said:”When better to encourage people to share their Tweets, Facebook posts and Linked In entries than when they arte basking in the success of winning an award.
“By working through the night we were able to offer links to the videos to the winners and sponsors within minutes of the interviews being recorded so this resulted in a big hike in hits compared to events when content is sometimes edited days and even weeks after it is recorded.”

Feedback from those involved was unanimously appreciative with many saying they were proud to be able to share their success with their friends and families but also colleagues and marketing teams to get maximum exposure.

The awards were hosted by TV presenter and animal lover, Matt Baker, and renowned retired veterinary surgeon, Chris Laurence MBE FRCVS, who puts his name to the Vet of the Year Award. They recognise the achievements of remarkable people from the farming, veterinary and charity industries, who go beyond the call of duty to better the lives of animals around the world including veterinary and charity professionals, researchers and volunteers.
Speaking at the ceremony, chair of the judging panel, Chris Laurence, said: ““The quality of nominations for this year’s awards surpassed any we’ve had before, and the people and organisations nominated are well deserved winners. It is especially pleasing to see people from different organisations coming together in the name of animal welfare to work together and to provide leadership. Not only do the winners deserve our thanks and praise but all those nominated should be really proud of what they do for the welfare of animals that can’t speak for themselves.”

Filming Moves To Brazil

The São Paulo region of Brazil is the location for the latest round of filming for this year’s Global Animal Welfare Awards.

Good Call Media’s cameras have been circumnavigating the globe to interview the winners, from five different continents.

The northern São Paulo region is the location for our latest filming assignment

Fresh from filming on the east coast of Canada, we have flown to Brazil via Panama to meet the person from Latin America who has impressed the judges with their passion for animal welfare. The winner, from one of Sao Paolo’s highly resepcted universities, will travel to Barcelona, Spain to receive the award on May 4 at an event organised by the World Veterinary Association (WVA) and sponsored by global veterinary health company, Ceva Sante Animale, who also sponsored there highly successful 2017 Awards in South Korea..

Good Call Media’s Nik Wood, will host the event and will introduce a video report highlighting the work of each winner before they come up on stage to receive their award.

Our travels to illustrate the animal welfare stories, is also taking us to West Africa, Europe and China.

Watch out for the winners videos once the Awards have been handed out on May 4.

Welfare Awards ‘Best Ever’

The 2018 UK Animal Welfare Awards, staged by our key client, global veterinary health company, Ceva Santé Animale, were declared the ‘best ever’ following the ceremony held in Birmingham, UK.

Figures from the veterinary, charity and animal health sector gathered at Birminghams’ city centre conference centre for the event and Good Call Media was on hand to record on the spot interviews with the winners.

We worked through the night to upload the interviews and all were ‘live’ on social media by the time people woke up the following morning and they were given links to the video files and You Tube postings so that they could share through their own social media outlets.

Good Call Media Interviews Soccer Legend

Good Call Media met a footballing legend for our latest assignment for Variety the Children’s Charity.

We can’t say too much about the reason for interviewing the former Arsenal and Scotland goalkeeper who went on to a successful TV career as a presenter and pundit but all will be revealed shortly.

Good Call Media’s Fiona Molloy interviewing soccer legend Bob Wilson

We caught up with Bob outside the famous home of Arsenal in North London and he couldn’t have been more helpful with our project.

As a player, Wilson is most noted for his 11-year playing career at Arsenal where he made over 300 appearances. Wilson as well featured as a youth and senior international for Scotland. After retiring as a player, he turned to coaching and broadcasting, presenting football programmes on television for 28 years until 2002. Wilson has also gone on to create a charity organization known as the Willow Foundation.

Our work with Variety now spans the UK. We are currently working on the Yorkshire Property Awards, a video that helps to kick off the prestigious black tie event which attracts over 1000 people from the region’s
property industry at a glittering event held in Harrogate’s Rudding Park Hotel & Spa.

Our work with Bob Wilson is connected with the London office of Variety and their own property lunch which will be held later this year.

Watch this space for further details on how Bob Wilson has helped our project.

Volition Announce Trial Results

The latest success for our client Volition, the multi-national life sciences company developing simple, easy to use blood-based cancer tests to accurately diagnose a range of cancers, are the interim results of a major trial – and, yet again, our cameras were there to record the event.

Click here to see the video report.

Cameron Reynolds: Volition CEO

The interim results from its first asymptomatic colorectal cancer (CRC) frontline screening study. This ongoing study is being carried out in collaboration with Hvidovre Hospital, University of Copenhagen, Denmark and involves 680 subjects from the Danish National CRC Screening Program. The interim results demonstrated that a small panel of three ELISA assays, when considered with the subjects’ ages and smoking histories, produced an area under the curve (AUC) of 83% and was able to detect 80% of Stage I CRC cases and 66% of High-Risk Adenomas (HRA) at 78% specificity, respectively.

Volition at the New York Stock Exchange

Good Call Media interviewed Cameron Reynolds, Chief Executive Officer of Volition, who commented, “After seven years of hard work, we are happy to announce these excellent early detection interim results from our ongoing front-line screening trial for colorectal cancer. Using only a small panel of three assays and considering certain limited patient variables, these data demonstrate that we can identify early stage and pre-cancerous adenomas at a high level of accuracy in an asymptomatic screening environment. Our tests use only a small amount of blood and could be added to routine blood screening regimens at a reasonable cost. We believe these are the first data to show high detection rates in a blood test, not only of early Stage I cancer, but also of the extremely important high-risk pre-cancerous adenomas. We believe that with further development, our Nu.QTM panel could form the basis of new CRC tests with early stage disease detection, and that our tests could become accessible to and usable by a wide section of the screening population around the world.”

Volition is a multi-national life sciences company developing simple, easy to use blood-based cancer tests to accurately diagnose a range of cancers. The tests are based on the science of Nucleosomics®, which is the practice of identifying and measuring nucleosomes in the bloodstream or other bodily fluid – an indication that disease is present.

As cancer screening programs become more widespread, Volition’s products aim to help to diagnose a range of cancers quickly, simply, accurately and cost effectively. Early diagnosis has the potential to not only prolong the life of patients, but also to improve their quality of life.

Volition’s research and development activities are currently centered in Belgium, with additional offices in London, Texas and Singapore, as the company focuses on bringing its diagnostic products to market first in Europe, then in the U.S. and ultimately, worldwide.
